Rising from the legacy of one of Manila’s most iconic commercial sites, SM Prime Holdings Inc. is ushering in a new era for the former Harrison Plaza Complex with a landmark redevelopment that blends history, innovation, and modern urban living. With an investment exceeding ₱6 billion, the transformation of SM Harrison Plaza signals not just the return of a familiar name, but the reimagining of a destination that once defined shopping culture in the capital. Targeted for completion in 2027, the project stands as a centerpiece of SM Prime’s broader vision to reshape the retail landscape across the Philippines.
The redevelopment forms part of the company’s ambitious ₱150-billion investment program spanning 2026 to 2030, which includes upgrading 16 existing malls and building up to 15 new lifestyle destinations. At the heart of this initiative is a shift toward more immersive, community-oriented spaces—an approach that will be evident in the new SM Harrison Plaza. Planned to span over 200,000 square meters of gross floor area, the development is set to join the ranks of SM’s flagship properties, comparable in scale and impact to SM City Davao and SM City Clark.

More than just a retail hub, the new SM Harrison Plaza is envisioned as a dynamic lifestyle destination that reflects the character of its surroundings. Located within Manila’s vibrant cultural and entertainment district, the mall will feature open, nature-inspired architecture, integrating green spaces and communal areas designed to host events, gatherings, and creative expressions. This design direction aims to foster a deeper connection between the space and the community it serves, offering more than just shopping—but a place for shared experiences.
Strategically positioned near key landmarks such as Manila Bay, the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex, and major hotels, the development is expected to attract a diverse mix of visitors—from local residents and office workers to students and tourists. Its curated tenant mix will bring together international brands and homegrown retailers, capturing the eclectic spirit of Malate and Ermita. Beyond its commercial promise, the project is also poised to contribute to urban revitalization, generating employment opportunities and breathing new life into a historic part of the city.
