A colorful slice of Thailand has arrived in the metro as the Thai SELECT Festival 2026 opens its doors at Shangri-La Plaza. For two days, the Grand Atrium transforms into a vibrant showcase of Thai culinary traditions and cultural expression, offering Filipinos a closer look at the flavors and artistry that define Thailand. Organized by the Department of International Trade Promotion through the Thai Trade Center in Manila, the event brings together Thai SELECT-certified restaurants for a truly immersive experience.

The opening ceremony set the tone for the celebration, gathering diplomats, partners, and members of the media. Sutinee Vathana and Makawadee Sumitmor emphasized how cuisine continues to connect cultures, reinforcing the enduring friendship between Thailand and the Philippines. Their message echoed throughout the festival—food is more than taste; it is a shared story that bridges communities.

At the center of the festival is the Thai SELECT certification, a mark of authenticity granted to establishments that uphold traditional Thai flavors, quality, and hospitality. Guests can explore offerings from renowned restaurants such as Benjarong Manila, Greyhound Café, Mango Tree, Moo Baan Krung Thai, Nara Thai Cuisine, and Thai BBQ Original Restaurant—each presenting signature dishes that highlight the depth and balance of Thai cuisine.

Beyond dining, the festival unfolds as a cultural journey. Live cooking demonstrations reveal both traditional methods and modern interpretations, while intricate fruit and vegetable carving by the Royal Thai Embassy showcases a centuries-old art rooted in precision and elegance. Every detail reflects “sanook,” the Thai spirit of joy, inviting visitors to not just taste, but truly experience Thailand.

Running from March 28 to 29, the Thai SELECT Festival 2026 offers a flavorful escape—one that celebrates authenticity, creativity, and the enduring appeal of Thai culture.
