Cyberzone Puts Tabletop Gaming in the Spotlight

Tabletop gaming in the Philippines has steadily grown into a vibrant community built on strategy, imagination, and shared enthusiasm. Recognizing this momentum, Cyberzone is stepping beyond its reputation as a leading tech destination to create a dedicated space where tabletop enthusiasts can compete, learn, and celebrate their passion together. By supporting these communities, Cyberzone continues to expand its role as a cultural hub for gamers of every kind.

For years, tabletop tournaments were included as side events within the Cyberzone Challenger Series and Cyberzone Geek Con DX. In 2026, however, Cyberzone is bringing the experience to a whole new level. The company is launching a dedicated tournament series focused entirely on tabletop gaming, placing the spotlight on players who have long contributed to the growth of this unique gaming culture.

According to Patrick Pacla, Vice President for Cyberzone Operations and Marketing at SM Supermalls, the move reflects a commitment to recognize and empower the tabletop gaming community. By creating a larger and more focused platform, Cyberzone aims to celebrate the creativity, tactical thinking, and camaraderie that define the tabletop experience while delivering the exciting tech-driven atmosphere that Cyberzone events are known for.

The competition is expected to be intense as players battle for a share of the tournament’s PHP 20,000 prize pool for each game category. Champions will be crowned in two popular titles—Magic: The Gathering and Beyblade X—during the final leg of the competition.

Despite the high stakes, the event remains welcoming to newcomers who want to explore the hobby. Visitors can drop by the Neutral Grounds booth for “Learn to Play” sessions where experienced players and facilitators will introduce the basics and share tips on how to sharpen gameplay skills.

The grand finale of the Cyberzone Tabletop Throwdown will take place on March 28–29 at the Main Atrium of SM City BF Parañaque. Freeplay registration opens on March 28, giving participants the chance to familiarize themselves with the gaming arena before the main tournament on March 29.

Interested players are encouraged to secure their slots early through the SMO App, as registration is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. For updates and more information, gamers can follow SM Cyberzone on social media or visit the official website.
