Cebu marked a quiet but confident milestone at the ASEAN Tourism Forum with the introduction of its first Cebu MICE Guidebook—a move that signals not just readiness for global events, but a clear vision for what meaningful meetings can look like in the region.

Unveiled during the Travel Exchange (TRAVEX) at the Mactan Expo in Mactan Newtown, the guidebook’s launch was timed to meet the world where it was already gathered. With tourism leaders, government officials, and international buyers converging in Cebu, the moment underscored the province’s intent to step forward as a serious player in the Southeast Asian meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) landscape.

Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) with Cleofe Albiso, President of the Cebu MICE Alliance and Managing Director of Megaworld Hotels & Resorts; Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, Department of Tourism; Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles, Chief Operating Officer of the Tourism Promotions Board; and Regan Rex King, Vice President of CCCI.
More than a directory, the Cebu MICE Guidebook is positioned as a practical planning companion for international organizers. It maps out Cebu’s full event ecosystem—showing how venues, accommodations, logistics, and creative services come together to support gatherings built on collaboration, innovation, and shared purpose. Nearly 300 establishments and service providers are featured, spanning hotels, convention venues, transport operators, professional conference organizers, and event suppliers.
Philippines’ Department of Tourism Secretary, Christina Garcia Frasco expresses her gratitude for the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry through the Cebu M.I.C.E. Alliance that motivated the creation of the CEBU M.I.C.E. Guidebook.
The project grew out of sustained private-sector leadership, spearheaded by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with public agencies. Initially developed for Cebu Business Month 2025, the guidebook evolved through industry consultation and was refined for its regional debut at the ASEAN Tourism Forum—reflecting a long-term, collective effort rather than a one-off promotional push.
Cebu’s infrastructure gives weight to the story it tells. With more than 20,000 available guest rooms, an expanding roster of meeting venues, and a well-developed mix of dining, retail, and leisure offerings, the destination can accommodate events of varying sizes while offering delegates authentic experiences beyond conference halls.

Industry leaders see the guidebook as an expression of a larger ambition. For Cebu’s MICE community, hosting events is no longer just about scale or efficiency—it is about relevance and impact. The focus is on gatherings that engage local partners, showcase Cebuano talent, and leave lasting value for both delegates and host communities.
As the global meetings industry shifts toward more intentional, values-driven events, Cebu’s new guidebook positions the province not simply as a venue—but as a partner for purpose-led conversations, connections, and growth.
