Building the Future of Filipino Livestream Creators

L-R: Ms. Belle Zoleta, Ms. Shayn Mangilin, Dr. Ella Roxas and Mr. Dennis Santos

In an industry moving at digital speed, Startok is steadily carving out its place as a new kind of talent incubator—one built not just on visibility, but on performance, discipline, and trust. That vision took another step forward during Startok’s recent Contract Signing Event, where the agency formally welcomed its second wave of livestream creator talents and outlined its roadmap for long-term growth.

At the center of the discussion was Startok Founder Via Dominico, who shared how the agency is positioning itself within the rapidly evolving livestream commerce space in the Philippines. Less than a year since its launch, Startok was formed in partnership with TikTok Shop Philippines and powered by M-Commerce to address a growing gap in the creator economy: the need for structured, results-driven livestream professionals.

Spotlight is on, as StarTok Talents welcomes their batch 2 creators to their family

Dominico’s leadership draws from firsthand experience. As TikTok’s Top Beauty Live Creator in 2023, she saw how livestreaming differs fundamentally from traditional content creation. While short-form videos build awareness, live selling demands real-time connection, product mastery, and the ability to convert engagement into measurable results. According to Dominico, this shift has reshaped what brands look for in creators—placing greater value on consistency, credibility, and data-backed performance.

One of Startok’s core roles, she explained, is preparing talents for the realities of livestream commerce. Many aspiring creators enter the field assuming it requires less structure than other forms of content. In practice, live selling requires discipline, clear storytelling, and a strong understanding of both audience behavior and product relevance. Startok addresses this through focused training on livestream strategy, ethical promotion, and brand alignment.

Authenticity remains central to the agency’s philosophy. Creators are encouraged to work only with products they genuinely use and trust, reinforcing long-term audience confidence. This creator-first mindset, Dominico noted, helps build sustainable careers rather than short-lived viral success.

As Startok moves closer to its first anniversary this February, expansion is already underway. Planned initiatives include upgraded video production support, offline activations for creator-led events, and new development programs aimed at nurturing emerging talent. The agency is also exploring partnerships with youth and university communities to help cultivate the next generation of livestream professionals.

With a clear focus on skills, values, and opportunity, Startok continues to strengthen its role as a rising force shaping the future of livestream commerce in the Philippines.
