Grief often drives people to desperate measures—but what if the chance to say goodbye came with a deadly cost? Baghead, a chilling supernatural thriller from director Alberto Corredor, explores how far one might go for closure—and what happens when the past refuses to rest.
The story follows Iris Lark (Freya Allan), who inherits her late father’s centuries-old pub, The Queen’s Head. Inside its shadowy walls lurks Baghead, a mysterious creature capable of summoning the dead by taking their form—but only for two minutes. Tempted by profit and haunted by loss, Iris defies her father’s warnings and uses Baghead’s powers to help others reconnect with their deceased loved ones. What begins as a morbid business venture quickly descends into horror as the boundaries between life and death blur, and Iris realizes that some goodbyes should remain unspoken.
Adapted from Corredor’s 2017 short film, Baghead transforms a haunting premise into a full-length exploration of grief, guilt, and obsession. Writer Lorcan Reilly’s script weaves emotional depth into psychological terror, while Corredor’s direction turns the creature itself into a symbol of the pain that consumes those who can’t let go.
Freya Allan delivers a gripping performance, immersing herself in the emotional weight of loss. “I had to understand Iris’s pain before she even walks into the story,” Allan shared in an interview, describing her deep dive into the psychology of grief.
Now streaming on Lionsgate Play via PLDT Home, Smart, and Cignal, Baghead is more than a horror film—it’s a haunting reflection on love, loss, and the terrifying price of refusing to move on.
