For PlayTime CARES, giving back has never been an afterthought—it has always been at the heart of its mission. As the corporate social responsibility arm of PlayTime, the country’s leading online entertainment platform, PlayTime CARES is proof that when businesses thrive, they can—and should—lift communities with them. Its initiatives, ranging from hunger alleviation to youth empowerment, embody the belief that nation-building is most effective when government, private sector, and communities work hand in hand.

Fighting Hunger with Government Partners

One of PlayTime CARES’ most significant collaborations this year was with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the first-ever Walang Gutom Kusinero National Cook-Off Challenge. More than just a cooking contest, the event became a platform for ordinary families to showcase how they can create nutritious and affordable meals using the government’s Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) food credits. PlayTime CARES elevated the event’s impact by sponsoring a branded food cart as a livelihood package for the national champion from Zamboanga Peninsula—turning victory into opportunity.

This partnership builds on earlier efforts like the Walang Gutom Kitchen, which continues to serve freshly cooked meals to vulnerable families. Together, these projects reflect PlayTime CARES’ steadfast commitment to support the national fight against involuntary hunger.

Building Spaces for Children

PlayTime CARES believes that every Filipino child

deserves the chance to grow in safe and nurturing spaces. This vision came to life in Trece Martires, Cavite, with the turnover of the very first PlayTime Playground in a Gawad Kalinga community. Designed for holistic growth, the playground inspires imagination, fosters social interaction, and encourages active play—making childhood a little brighter and communities a little stronger.

Empowering Filipino Athletes

Beyond play spaces, PlayTime CARES invests in sports as a pathway to discipline, talent, and national pride. Through its partnership with FilOil, it has transformed the PlayTime FilOil Centre into a hub for premier collegiate basketball, including the FilOil EcoOil Pre-Season Cup. The initiative is complemented by grassroots support for boxing, basketball, and community-level tournaments, ensuring that athletes from all walks of life have platforms to showcase their talent.

Responding When Disaster Strikes

When calamities hit, PlayTime CARES is also quick to mobilize. From providing hot meals in evacuation centers to extending aid in disaster-stricken provinces, the organization ensures that relief reaches those who need it most. For PlayTime CARES, crisis response is more than charity—it is solidarity with Filipinos in their most difficult times.

Doing Business for a Greater Purpose

At PlayTime CARES, we measure success not just in numbers, but in lives touched,” said Krizia Cortez, Director of Public Relations. “Every project we take on—whether building playgrounds, supporting sports, or providing livelihood assistance—is rooted in our conviction that business and responsibility must go together. We are committed to making empowerment part of our legacy.

Beyond Entertainment, Toward Empowerment

More than just the CSR arm of an entertainment platform, PlayTime CARES positions itself as a catalyst for change. By creating sustainable programs that align with government priorities and address community needs, it reinforces a timeless truth: that when companies step up with compassion and purpose, they become vital partners in building a stronger, more resilient nation.
