General Santos City has long been recognized as the “Tuna Capital of the Philippines,” but its role as a logistics hub for Southern Mindanao is fast becoming equally significant. This momentum was underscored in a recent business forum jointly organized by 2GO Group, Inc. and the General Santos City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (GSCCCI), where industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and logistics experts converged to map out pathways for growth.

Carrying the theme “General Santos: Southern Mindanao’s Emerging Powerhouse in Trade and Logistics,” the forum became a platform for discussing how efficient transport and supply chain systems can sharpen the region’s competitiveness in agribusiness, fisheries, manufacturing, and exports.

“Logistics is the backbone of every thriving industry,” said GSCCCI President Miguel Dominguez. “Our farmers, manufacturers, and exporters can only reach their full potential if they are supported by reliable logistics partners who can open nationwide and international access.”

As the country’s largest integrated logistics provider, 2GO showcased how its multimodal services—covering sea freight, cold chain, warehousing, forwarding, and even passenger travel—offer both scale and flexibility for businesses in Mindanao. The company emphasized that its end-to-end solutions reduce costs, minimize pilferage, and ensure timely delivery, enabling SMEs and large companies alike to expand their market footprint.

One of the highlights came from agro-entrepreneur Hannah Mamon, owner of Strawberry-Guyabano Farm and Delibites Concepts Corporation. She shared how 2GO’s direct shipping services slashed delivery times and helped cut expenses by eliminating extra warehousing. Through 2GO’s Less than Container Load (LCL) service, even small shipments could be sent efficiently, giving her business faster inventory turnover and clearer costing.

“General Santos is not just a gateway for tuna exports but a growth hub for all of Southern Mindanao,” said Frederic C. DyBuncio, President and CEO of 2GO Group. “By strengthening our sea and land connectivity, we help local enterprises reach broader markets and become truly competitive.”

Currently operating in seven Mindanao ports, including General Santos, Davao, and Cagayan de Oro, 2GO continues to reinforce its commitment to empowering regional economies through logistics, ensuring Southern Mindanao’s industries can thrive in the national and global marketplace.
