A single meal can mean far more than sustenance—it can restore dignity, spark hope, and remind people they’re not forgotten. This belief brought PlayTime, one of the country’s most dynamic online entertainment platforms, together with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the “Walang Gutom Kitchen” initiative.
Through PlayTime CARES, the brand’s corporate social responsibility arm, over 300 vulnerable individuals in a community shelter received freshly prepared meals. But the impact reached beyond plates of food: it amplified the government’s push to tackle hunger through compassion-driven, community-led action.
“This partnership was built on a simple yet powerful idea: when private purpose and public mission align, real change happens,” shared Krizia Cortez, PlayTime’s Director of Public Relations. By tying its support to DSWD’s national Walang Gutom Program, PlayTime also brought fresh attention to food security, especially through creative platforms like its charity day under the Binibining Pilipinas pageant, where candidates helped share the message further.

Though centered on a single event, the collaboration underscored the bigger promise of cross-sector partnerships. Both PlayTime and DSWD are now exploring new ways to scale impact, from mobile kitchens to broader community campaigns, proving that when service becomes shared work, the effect multiplies.
“PlayTime CARES exists to build bridges—between business and government, intent and impact,” Cortez added. “This is just the beginning.”
In a nation still battling widespread hunger, the Walang Gutom Kitchen shows what’s possible when compassion is paired with action—and when feeding people becomes everyone’s shared responsibility.
