“ The Cube” Ushers in a New Era at SM MOA Arena

SM Mall of Asia Arena showcases its new state-of-the-art centerhung, “The Cube,” supplied by global Light-Emitting Diode (LED) leader Daktronics.

In celebration of its 13th anniversary, the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena has unveiled a major technological upgrade—a dazzling, massive centerhung scoreboard named “The Cube.” With a staggering value of over $2.1 million, this new addition is the largest of its kind in the Philippines. The Cube was installed in May 2025, signaling the Arena’s dedication to transforming the fan experience and aligning its facilities with the world’s leading venues.

The Cube was engineered and manufactured by Daktronics, a global powerhouse in LED display technology. Renowned for their high-performance scoreboards in major sports arenas like the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Madison Square Garden in New York, and Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Daktronics brings a stamp of global quality to MOA Arena’s newest feature. This partnership ensures the arena can now offer visual technology on par with the best in the industry.

The centerhung at SM Mall of Asia Arena enhances fan experience, event engagement, and brand partnerships, exciting the crowd with stunning visuals.

Featuring an expansive active display area of 176 square meters—an increase from the previous 138 square meters—The Cube delivers unmatched clarity and detail. The main screen boasts a 672×1344 pixel resolution, while its top and bottom rings add even more dynamic content display, enhancing the overall presentation of every event. With improved pixel density and a 117% performance boost compared to its predecessor, fans can now enjoy high-definition replays, vivid animations, and real-time stats from any seat in the house.

The grand debut of The Cube on May 14, 2025, marked a milestone moment for MOA Arena and its patrons. Its debut promises not only aesthetic brilliance but also cutting-edge functionality. Event-goers can now enjoy features like multi-angle replays, split screens, fan cam shots, and interactive segments that elevate the excitement and energy within the venue. The installation redefines the possibilities of arena entertainment in the Philippines.

The new centerhung will be showcased during the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Men’s and Women’s Volleyball finals at SM Mall of Asia Arena.

With this state-of-the-art display, MOA Arena has positioned itself as a forward-thinking venue prepared for the expectations of a new generation of tech-savvy fans. The integration of international-grade equipment and smart design exemplifies the arena’s pursuit of excellence and readiness for the demands of modern live entertainment and sports broadcasting.

According to SM MOA Arena General Manager Arnel Gonzales, this groundbreaking investment is more than just an upgrade—it’s a pledge to fans and partners alike. “This magnitude of investment and facility upgrade serves as SM MOA Arena’s testament to bring exemplary live entertainment to the country,” Gonzales affirmed. “We are not just enhancing events—we are setting a new standard for what live entertainment should be.”
