RMHC and McDonald’s Bring New Bahay Bulilit Centers to Mindanao

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) and McDonald’s Philippines continue to champion children’s education by opening two new Bahay Bulilit Learning Centers in Mindanao. Located in Purok Matinabangun, Barangay Labangal in General Santos City and in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental, these centers are the first in both areas, bringing the national total to 45.

The Bahay Bulilit initiative provides safe, nurturing spaces where children can learn, play, and develop essential skills. Each center features designated areas for lessons, reading, creative play, and hygiene practices. Collaborating with local government units, RMHC and McDonald’s ensure these centers are well-managed, with trained daycare teachers overseeing operations.

Adi Timbol-Hernandez of McDonald’s Philippines emphasized the importance of supporting early childhood development to give kids a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Since its inception in 1995, RMHC’s programs have reached over 11,000 children, and the organization aims to establish 100 centers nationwide by 2028.

Beyond Bahay Bulilit, McDonald’s has supported educational efforts through initiatives like Brigada Eskwela, McDonald’s Night Classroom, and the ReClassified project, which transforms old furniture into school desks.
