The 2024 WIN DRR Awards honored exceptional women leaders making a significant impact in disaster risk reduction across Asia and the Pacific. Organized by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and supported by the Australian government and SM Prime Holdings, the awards celebrate the achievements of female trailblazers in the field.

Maria Linibi from Papua New Guinea received the prestigious 2024 WIN DRR Excellence Award. As the president of the Women in Agriculture Development Foundation, Linibi has empowered over 20,000 women farmers, championing disaster risk reduction and sustainable agricultural practices to strengthen food security and community resilience.

Meanwhile, Robyn Camille Mijares from the Philippines was recognized with the Rising Star Award for her advocacy work in food security. Her efforts were highlighted during the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR), emphasizing the critical role of young women leaders in building a safer and more sustainable future.
