UNISOL Highlights Tropical Fabric Innovations at Manila FAME 2024

UNISOL, a leader in the uniform on-demand industry, proudly launched its Chameleon PS Collection for 2025, which complies with the Philippine Tropical Fabric (PTF) law and utilizes fabric made from piña sourced from various locations within the Philippines. This exciting launch took place at Manila FAME 2024, marking a significant step towards innovation and sustainability in the uniform industry.

Jonas Kee Quilantang, CEO of UNISOL, expressed the company’s dedication to advancing the use of PTF. “We are very excited because, in line with our passion for innovation, we have the opportunity to offer the market the first Philippine Tropical Fabric made from piña,” Quilantang said. The Chameleon PS Collection, a unique line designed for public servants, supports the implementation of Republic Act 9242, which mandates the use of PTF in government uniforms.

However, the road to realizing this initiative has not been without challenges. “It has been difficult to implement RA 9242 due to the lack of raw material supply,” Quilantang explained. This challenge has only fueled UNISOL’s determination to pioneer the fabric’s development, ensuring the availability of PTF for the growing demand.

UNISOL is no stranger to innovation in the uniform business, which Quilantang describes as ‘an old industry with outdated processes’. After discovering a pool of talented yet unemployed sewers in Lapu-Lapu City, the company built its foundation as a social enterprise. “We provide employment opportunities to skilled workers, many of whom previously worked for international brands but were left jobless due to the contract-based nature of their work,” Quilantang added.

Since its establishment, UNISOL has continually strived to revolutionize the uniform sector. ‘Uniforms are an essential part of everyday work, yet no go-to brand exists. Our goal is to fill that gap by setting new standards in workwear through advanced technology and sustainable practices,’ said Quilantang. Focused on transformation, UNISOL integrates cutting-edge technology into every aspect of its operations, aiming to become a pioneer in end-to-end uniform production. Its user-friendly online platform has also made ordering uniforms incredibly easy.

As UNISOL looks to the future, it is steadily stitching its way toward becoming the go-to brand for on-demand uniforms that wearers can proudly embrace—one thread at a time.
