Don’t miss these much-awaited movies at SM Cinema

This July, moviegoers will undoubtedly have a blast in the cinemas with ‘Barbenheimer,’ a recently viral term combining two contrasting yet critically acclaimed film titles, Barbie and Oppenheimer; the Disney fantasy/adventure movie, Haunted Mansion; and the horror flick, Talk to Me. 

The highly anticipated films, Barbie and Oppenheimer hit theaters on July 19.

Barbie

The fantasy comedy film directed by Greta Gerwig is based on the famous fashion doll, with Margot Robbie in the lead role and Ryan Gosling as Ken. After being expelled from the idealistic Barbie Land, the two embark on a voyage of self-discovery. It also stars an ensemble cast including America Ferrera, Will Ferrell, and Dua Lipa. 

People don’t know much about the first live-action Barbie movie. But it involves several dolls such as Lawyer Barbie, Diplomat Barbie, and Mermaid Barbie.

Oppenheimer

Shot using specialized IMAX cameras, the biographical thriller is about theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, the director of the Los Alamos Laboratory during the development of the atomic bomb. It stars Cillian Murphy as the main character, with a supporting cast including Emily BluntMatt Damon, and Robert Downey, Jr.

Disney’s Haunted Mansion

The supernatural horror comedy tells the story of a team that helps exorcise their newly bought mansion after discovering it is inhabited by ghosts. It stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Jared Leto, Owen Wilson, and Winona Ryder.

Talk to Me

The Australian supernatural horror movie, Talk to Me is about a group of friends who discover how to conjure spirits using an embalmed hand, which unleashes terrifying supernatural forces.

The horror flick, Talk to Me premieres on July 26.
